The championship golf course at Port Shepstone Country Club in Umtentweni, is set in a sub-tropical paradise in Port Shepstone, South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal South Africa. Port Shepstone CC is a Parklands golf course with sloppy fairways with a picturesque view of the sea from every tee.

Split in two halves the Port Shepstone golf course front nine holes and its Buffalo grass fairways and greens are furrowed by a variety of medium height Mangroves trees and shrubs. The back nine is a links type kind of golf course, with generally open and windy weather with a number of water hazards and overflowing with fowl life.

Port Shepstone CC has a par value of 72 and stretches to about 5214 m long. Port Shepstone Country Club golf course was designed and opened by Hall of Famer Sid Brews in 1912.

Port Shepstone Country Club is well supported by local golfers and visitors alike. Mr Neil McKenzie was the first President and Founder of the Club. He passed away in March 1938. In May 1959 Port Shepstone Country Club was basically washed off the face of South Coast map by notorious hurricane storm floods. Members, sponsors, other golf clubs and the general public came together to work, raise funds and help re-establish the Club. Port Shepstone Country Club honors their selfless heroism by hosting the two day Restoration Cup competition held in May annually in commemoration.

Directions to Port Shepstone Country Club from Durban

Drive south on the N2 highway from Durban. Just before reaching Port Shepstone, take the Umtentweni turn off. Follow the R102 coast road through Umtentweni leading to the Country Club, which will be indicated by road signs on your left. Use: 30°43'51"S 30°27'25"E for a GPS guided coordination.
